The Low Impact Development (LID) Construction Inspection Course was developed by the San Antonio River Authority in partnership with Bexar County as part of the LID Credential Program. LID practices support stormwater quality improvements within the watershed and can often serve multiple functions in any landscape. The course is based on guidance described in the San Antonio River Basin Low Impact Development Technical Design Guidance Manual and focuses on key factors of construction inspection of LID permanent on-site stormwater best management practices (BMP) at the time of construction to ensure proper functioning. This course provides training on LID permanent on-site stormwater BMPs including bioretention & design variations, permeable pavement, sand filter, green roof, vegetated swale & filter strip, stormwater wetland, stormwater cistern, and extended detention basin (added 2020).

The Low Impact Development (LID) Annual Inspection & Maintenance Course was developed by the San Antonio River Authority in partnership with Bexar County as part of the LID Credential Program. LID practices support stormwater quality improvements within the watershed and can often serve multiple functions in any landscape. The course is based on guidance described in the San Antonio River Basin Low Impact Development Technical Design Guidance Manual and focuses on key factors of post-construction annual inspection of LID permanent on-site stormwater best management practices (BMP) to ensure proper functioning. This course provides training on key elements for post-construction inspection and maintenance of LID permanent on-site stormwater BMPs including bioretention, bioswale, planter/tree box, permeable pavement, sand filter, green roof, vegetated swale, vegetated filter strip, stormwater wetland, stromwater cistern, and extended detention basin.

The San Antonio River Authority and Bexar County are hosting the Site Planning for Low Impact Development (LID) Course on March 1 and 2, 2023 This in-person training course will provide the knowledge, expertise and skills required for implementing the steps necessary for developing final site plans that incorporate LID including the design phases of site assessment and preliminary site design as described in the San Antonio River Basin LID Technical Design Guidance Manual.

The San Antonio River Authority and Bexar County are hosting the Site Planning for Low Impact Development (LID) Course on June 22 and 23, 2022. This virtual training course will provide the knowledge, expertise and skills required for implementing the steps necessary for developing final site plans that incorporate LID including the design phases of site assessment and preliminary site design as described in the San Antonio River Basin LID Technical Design Guidance Manual.

The San Antonio River Authority and Bexar County are hosting Design of Common Low Impact Development (LID) Practices on February 23-24, 2021. This virtual training course will provide the knowledge, expertise and skills required to design the most common LID permanent stormwater management practices in the San Antonio region including bioretention, bioswale, permeable pavement, and cistern. LID practices support stormwater quality improvements within the watershed and can often serve multiple functions in any landscape. The course benefits engineers, architects, landscape architects and other individuals participating in design of permanent stormwater management features.
